Flower Power

Flower Power

While it may not be the 60’s anymore, floral patterns are still big in fashion. From feminine, pastel-colored prints to Hawaiian-style looks, this trend is looking very bright for spring 2012. Floral prints of many flavors have been spotted on the runways of Rodarte, Thakoon, and Alexander Wang, among many other top designers. Stores like H&M, Forever21, and J.Crew offer more accessible and wallet-friendly versions, filling their racks with floral skirts, dresses, and shoes. I’m in love with Citizen of Humanity’s Mandy floral jeans, which embody the vintage look with its floral pattern. I like how The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine incorporated a pair into her versatile look, as seen here.

It’s easy to style patterns into your daily wardrobe, or at least it is for me. Modern florals show that the print can be edgy, feminine, and tropical – or all three at once. It must just be the changin’ times.
