I’ve been a fan of Lauren Conrad for a while. I was always a loyal member of “Team LC,” if you will. But with all reality show references aside, Conrad’s success in the style world is easy to see. She’s got her own clothing line, Paper Crown, plus LC Lauren Conrad – an original selection of accessories, clothing, and shoes available only at Kohl’s. However, my favorite project from this style maven and best-selling author is undoubtedly her beauty-based style blog, The Beauty Department. Dedicated to anything and everything beauty-related, Lauren, makeup artist Amy Nadine, and hair stylist Kristin Ess share videos, tutorials, and photos to give their readers a “daily dose of pretty.”
It’s hard to believe that it’s the beginning of April, with Earth Day quickly approaching on the 22nd. The Beauty Department has partnered with tarte cosmetics to celebrate the holiday with an eco-chic, limited-edition Earth Day collection called the “down to earth” kit. Priced at $49, it’s exclusively available for purchase here.
Included in this kit are a few of Amy Nadine’s favorite tarte products, including the LipSurgence™ lip tint; gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara; Amazonian clay 12-hour blush; and multiplEYE™ liquid liner. Take it from this popular celeb makeup artist, who’s worked with clients including Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, and Whitney Port, that tarte cosmetics are some of the best out there. And while I’m no beauty genius myself, I am a fan of tarte’s emphasEYES™ inner rim brightener and aqua-gel eyeliners.
Not only is tarte combining these four fab products into one kit, but they’re also donating 20% of all proceeds to The Beauty Department’s charity of choice, Wine to Water. This nonprofit focuses on supplying adequate water to needy people worldwide, already successfully implementing clean water in nine countries since 2004. Wine to Water even offers a unique wine selection, with $7.00 from every bottle sold going back to support their efforts. That sounds like a charity even I can back.
So get pretty and help out in the spirit of this coming Earth Day. Who knew you could do both at once?
