Summer Shades

Bluemercury reveals some of this summer’s best beauty shades to be those in families of Sun Kissed Corals and Soft Pinks.

Both inspirations can easily translate into your makeup plan, since coral is versatile enough to look great with most skin tones and pink is really classic.

In recreating an easy look like Elizabeth Olsen’s coral complexion or Taylor Swift’s fresh pink, you’ll need products like a few of these from Bluemercury:

To bring coral beauty alive, I’d start with NARS’ fantastic Illuminator in Super Orgasm. Mixing this product with your foundation makes skin look more glowing and refreshed. And because I loved NARS’ Andy Warhol collection, it seems only natural to be obsessed with their latest collaboration from shoe/handbag extraordinaire Pierre Hardy. NARS’ Pierre Hardy Blush Palette in Rotonde simultaneously shimmers with its coral color, giving the cheekbone more than just a simple sweep of blush.

I was recently impressed with a Trish McEvoy mascara, and her Essential Balm in Gorgeous Coral looks perfect for emulating sunkissed beauty. Its crayon design makes coloring the lip easy, and it’s also infused with a hint of refreshing mint. Deborah Lippmann’s bright polish in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun adds an extra punch to the look.
.
For soft pink colors instead, Bobbi Brown’s Pink Brightening Brick is the ultimate. It’s a fantastic beauty multitasker, acting as an eyeshadow palette or pink-flushed blush. Post-foundation, it pairs well with her Brightening Lip Gloss and a NARS duo like Bouthan on the eyes. I’m into matching nails, and I like Laura Mercier’s polish in Bare Angel for the final touch.

Pink and coral shades are indeed so versatile that they can be expressed through day or night looks. Add extra drama to the eye with a liner like Stila’s Smudge Stick Waterproof Liner, or go light on the lip for a more casual outing.
